About Us

Twin Cities Crickets, as part of Nimble Lifecycle, provides banded crickets locally to the Twin Cities Metro Area.

Nimble Lifecycle was established as a cricket farm in a "grow shed" located in Bob and Laura Christopher's backyard in February 2023. From the beginning Bob and Laura focused on the goal of breeding and raising the highest quality Gryllodes sigillatus, more commonly known as the Tropical Banded Cricket, for human consumption.

Almost immediately, demand for Nimble Lifecycle Crickets came from local reptile sellers and owners for feeder crickets.  Learning about the huge need in the Twin Cities for a reliable source of locally available live feeders Nimble Lifecycle decided to focus in the feeder cricket market.

With the little backyard farm bursting at the seams, Nimble Lifecycle found a perfect location for their expanding farming needs to serve the Twin Cities market and on February 1st, 2024 Twin Cities Crickets was born at their new 3,000 sf farming space in Spring Lake Park!

At this time, we are having an absolute ball getting to know all of the reptile breeders and stores, tarantula and jumping spider breeders and enthusiasts and learning even more about the fascinating creatures that this beautiful planet has made! It’s so incredible we could "almost" forget about our ultimate goal of producing crickets for human consumption.  The reptile and spider world is full of so many incredible people who are generous with their knowledge and have been so welcoming to us, we’ve been a bit overwhelmed and are so grateful to be among them!

As we grow our farm and keep learning, we intend to make connections that further the understanding and willingness of people to engage in entomophagy (the eating of insects.) When humans in North America are ready to embrace this safe and extremely healthy practice, we will be here with our delicious crickets to provide a bountiful and tasty source of nutrition!  Until then, we are going to hang with our reptile, spider, and insect people (and have a blast while doing it!). We will continue to raise the healthiest and heartiest of banded crickets! We invite you to follow our journey, say hello, and check out all our social media accounts to join in the adventure!
