Regulation Requirements & Permits

Twin Cities Crickets (as part of Nimble Lifecycle, LLC) operates in compliance with USDA regulations 7 CFR 330, pertaining to the interstate movement of live biocontrol organisms. 

Regulation Requirements:

Banded Crickets (Gryllodes sigillatus) are not a native species of cricket to the continental United States and as such are considered an invasive species.  As an invasive species any customer purchasing banded crickets from Twin Cities Crickets are required to abide by the following regulations:

  • Under no circumstance can banded crickets be released into the environment. 
  • Any banded crickets not used for their intended purpose must be contained in a sealed plastic bag and placed in a freezer until they have expired.  The sealed bag of expired frozen banded crickets may be disposed of as trash.
  • Further distribution of banded crickets is prohibited without the distributor obtaining the appropriate permits from the USDA.

Twin Cities Crickets maintains a record of all shipments sent under the obtained USDA permits for three years after the shipping date.

All of the permits linked below were issued to Nimble Lifecycle (8260 Arthur Street NE, Suite F, Spring Lake Park, MN 55432) and its owners. These permits authorize the interstate transportation of Gryllodes sigillatus adults and nymphs for use as feeder insects from Minnesota to each of those jurisdictions.
