These wicking pads are the cleanest way to give insects fresh water. We have tried EVERYTHING and this is by far our favorite method to add fresh water to our cricket enclosures. The insects will get them dirty, but they are so much easier to clean than sponges and much more eco friendly than disposable options. Just spray them off while holding the pad at an angle to ensure the waste and debris is sprayed off each side. After removing any loose dirt, give them a spray with diluted bleach at a ratio of 10 parts water to 1 part bleach. Let air dry. When the pad is completely dry, the bleach will have dissipated, leaving nothing behind.
