This mixer has two compartments: the top where you load the insects with a screw-on lid, and the bottom, that you shake the powder into. There is a locking grate between the sections.
When the grate is shut, the powder stays in the bottom, when you open the grate, you can tip the mixer bottom up and the powder enters the insect chamber. Shake, shake, shake, and turn the mixer back to the upright position and all of your insects have been dusted with the excess dust returning to the bottom cup! You can keep it in there to use on your next feeding!
